Since I was a kid I was always fascinated by stars, even though I could barely see them. I could stare at the sky during the day and night just admiring how pretty and calm it was up there. I thought it was so cool that I could actually see the Earth as a sphere if you look close enough and it got me wondering if there were more planets like ours. At night while looking at all these blurry specs I would think to myself, there’s probably someone just like me on a different planet thinking the same thing. This brought up the ultimate question for me, Do aliens exist? And if so are they little green guys or do they look just like us. Maybe they all come in different shapes and sizes like in Rick and Morty and we are the only planet who does not know because we can not explore space. There are so many possibilities out there in space and we have barely scratched the surface. These are the things that scare me, but at the same time it makes me want to become an astronaut and explore space and planets forever. Ever since then I have always gone outside at night and tried to look at different stars each day wondering which one of those stars is giving life to another planet. So till this day I am asking, Are we all yourselves in this whole universe or are there other living, humane beings out there we can’t see? I think it is selfish to think we are the only living beings in the whole universe, open your mind and realize there is a good chance of aliens being real.
In Linda Lacina’s How Betty and Barney Hill’s Alien Abduction Story Defined the Genre DEC 13, 2019, told the story of one of the first alien abductions to happen in the country. She described the night where a couple named Betty and Barn were supposedly abducted by aliens in 1961. Now during this time it was said that there were never any bad encounters with aliens until the story of Betty and Barney. It was at night coming back from their honeymoon when They noticed a strange light following them for a bit. It wasn’t til hours later they regained consciousness with ripped clothes, scuffed shoes, and broken watches. With the help of a phyciatrist they were able to remember the details of that night. They described it as gray beings who walked them into a ship as big as a house and performed multiple experiments on them. This shocked the world and everyone thought they were crazy when in fact Barry was a ww2 veteran with an IQ of 140 who would have never believed in saucers until that night and after that he swore it was real.
Something from the writing that really helps answer my research question is when Lacina told us what they experienced and how specific it was. Betty talked about how ,”During the examinations, the beings removed Betty and Barney’s clothes, plucked strands of their hair, took clippings of their nails and scraped their skin. Each sample was placed on a clear material, not unlike a glass slide. Needles, connected to long wires, probed their heads, arms, legs and spines. One large needle, around 4 to 6 inches long, was inserted into Betty’s belly. This pregnancy test left her twisting in pain. Throughout, Barney and Betty called “the leader” watched from the side.” I think this quote is very helpful because these people weren’t crazy, they were regular people who had such a specific encounter that changed how they lived for the rest of their lives. After nobody believed them and thought they were just trying to get attention, but with time and numerous investigations of aliens showed they might not have been lying. There is no reason for that couple to lie about what they saw. The only thing they gained from telling the world their experience was hate and skepticism.
Today we are looking for any signs of life on other worlds, but we were not the first to ever have these ideas. I want to talk about when people started thinking of aliens, I want to show you that people are not just influenced by the media today. We start to see people thinking of life on other worlds in the seventh century BC where Lucianus of Samosata’s satire True History perfect beings living on the moon and sun. He wrote that he did not think any of this to be true especially with the church being around, but it did spark numerous writers to follow in his footsteps.
We can start to see the belief in Aliens during 1686 when Bernarnd le Bouvier de Fontenelle wrote his book Conversation on the Plurality of Worlds. He ultimately believe that there was other living beings on the planets and moons in our solar system, he thought that“ the inhabitants of Mercury and Venus as scorched by the sun , while the denizens of Jupiter are “Flegmatik” and the moons function as colonies for the main planet.” He had the right idea, obviously with the technology we have today we can quickly disprove this, but nonetheless it shows people have thought of life out of earth since the beginning of our existence.
As I am writing this some major news came out saying that Aliens are indeed real and all world leaders know of this but have kept it a secret. Some of this can be reaching, but It is interesting to read about and for all we know it may be true. On December 8, 2020 an ex-Israeli space official confirmed that aliens are real, but have been kept a secret because the world is not ready for it. The official’s name is Haim Eshed who was head of Israel’s space security program for 30 years. Eshed has confirmed that there is a,” so-called ‘Galactic Federation’ which supposedly runs an underground Mars base in a secret pact with Washington” People are already writing him off as a crazy old man , but Eshed had won the Israel security award three times during his career. Eshed has even admitted that these claims sound crazy, stating,
”If I had come up with what I’m saying today five years ago, I would have been hospitalised. Today they’re already talking differently. I have nothing to lose. I’ve received my degrees and awards, I am respected in universities abroad, where the trend is also changing.”
At this point he is saying that he does not care if you believe him, he has reached the point in life where he is accomplished and wants to share the secrets he has held for most of his career. He said that for over 50 years the U.S has been in agreement with the “Galactic federation”to let them experiment on earth to better understand the universe. The only reason we have not heard of this is because it was a mutual agreement that they did not want to cause mass hysteria and would wait until humanity was more accepting of the fact of their existence. Reading about this just further pushes my belief of aliens, even though it sounds crazy it just makes sense.At one point Donald Trump was hinting at the existence of aliens, but according to Eshed The federation told him to hush down. If they were to be real, it would scare the mass population into thinking we could be aliens slaves at any point. It could cause people who are very religious to freak out because their whole way of life is just thrown out of the window. As time goes on we learn more about aliens, if any of this information is remotely true I might see the existence of extraterrestrial life within my lifetime.
During my research My professor pointed me out to someone who had encountered what they would call an “Aliens” multiple times in their life. The person I interviewed wished to be anonymous, but they gladly shared all the details of when they thought they had a meeting with aliens. The first encounter he told me about was during his 20’s, He claimed one day he shaved his head for fun and one morning he woke up with a big scar on the back of his head. This description matches a lot of stories you hear of people getting abducted where they have large scars where their body was opened up and examined. This was not the only time however, when he was 3 years old he remembers two different times he was visited during the night. He remembered that he woke up with his own self looking at his body from above. He described it as seeing himself, watching these blue men examine his body and twirls his body around like a rotisserie chicken. He was only 3 years old at the time with no knowledge of aliens yet his real life dream matched multiple stories as well where people say they have faced aliens. The second time he claimed that he woke up to different animals walking in his room with one humanoid looking creature surrounding him in his room.The difference this time he said he didn’t feel any hostility and it almost felt happy, he feels this is how children will deal with encountering aliens. I appreciate him being able to tell all these stories and they are coming straight from the heart so you can tell this really happened.He has done some major research when it comes to aliens and he is well knowledged on the topic, it would be great for people to hear his research. His story matches very well with what happens to other people and I do not think that is just a coincidence. We talked more about the scientist who confirmed aliens are real and we both believe it is true based off all the evidence we have seen over the years.
Before I started writing this paper I had always believed in aliens, I knew there was something else out there but I never had a clear picture. Obviously there is no hard evidence to prove they are real,but doing the research on them confirms to me that they are. We can look back in time and see that people have always had encounters with “gods” in the sky and how they would take humans and show them to new ways of life. After reading about the first alien abduction story, interviewing someone who has been abducted is eye opening and shows you how many people have actually gone through that. I recommend for people who think there is no chance of us being alone in this universe to check out this writing or do some research of their own to truly understand what is out there.
